The Division of Developmental Medicine, the Department of Psychiatry and the Rosamund Stone Zander and Hansjoerg Wyss Translational Neuroscience Center at Boston Children’s Hospital seeks a full-time psychologist to conduct research assessments of studies in the Human Neurobehavioral Core Service. The Human Neurobehavioral Core Service (HNBCS) provides centralized and efficient behavioral assessment services for clinical and translational research studies within Boston Children’s Hospital. Services provided in the Core include consultations with senior faculty and guidance on study conceptualization and design, grant development, IRB protocol development, battery selection, study staff training, and phenotypic characterization, including direct observation, assessment, and parent-reported measures. In addition to conducting research assessments, the psychologist will provide training and supervision to research assistants within the HNBCS, as well as collaborate in preparing scientific papers and presentations as needed.
Psychologists in the Division of Developmental Medicine (DDM) are actively involved in education of psychology post-doctoral fellows, developmental and behavioral pediatric fellows, and medical students. Psychologists are expected to participate in the DDM’s young investigator Scholarly Oversight program, including attendance at all required SOC meetings, regular reports of research progress, and participation in related clinical research training and mentorship activities. Psychologists also participate in all DDM Clinical Research Laboratory meetings and activities. Depending on interest, clinical need, and experience there may also be the potential to see patients in the Developmental Medicine Center.
Applicants must possess a Massachusetts health service provider license in psychology prior to assuming the position and have completed two to three years post-doctoral experience. Academic appointments at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with clinical and research experience, most likely at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level. Graduates of APA-approved doctoral programs and internships required.
