
Overview
Manning Family Children’s in New Orleans, Louisiana is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician to join and help expand a well-established Developmental Pediatrics program. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside an experienced physician leader while supporting the transition of a mature, high-demand clinical service to the next generation of providers. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the evaluation and management of children with complex developmental and behavioral conditions, along with a strong commitment to multidisciplinary, family-centered care.
Position Highlights
The program is fully established and supported by the institution, offering the opportunity to step into a mature clinical service with significant demand. The role includes participation in a collaborative, multidisciplinary care model with a dedicated focus on autism spectrum disorder and other complex developmental diagnoses. There are meaningful opportunities for teaching, mentorship, and program development, along with planned expansion supported by additional physician and advanced practice provider coverage.
Key Responsibilities
The physician will provide comprehensive diagnostic and longitudinal care for children with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD and behavioral disorders, global developmental delay, learning and cognitive disorders, and other complex developmental conditions. Responsibilities include leading and/or participating in multidisciplinary diagnostic evaluations, incorporating standardized autism assessment tools such as the ADOS-2 when appropriate. The role also involves developing and managing long-term, family-centered care plans in close collaboration with pediatric psychology, speech and occupational therapy, social work, care coordination teams, as well as schools and community-based services.
In addition, the provider will offer education and guidance to families navigating complex developmental diagnoses, contribute to initiatives aimed at improving access and reducing wait times, and participate in teaching and mentorship for trainees, APPs, and junior providers.
Qualifications
Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatrics and have completed fellowship training in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics. Eligibility for medical licensure in Louisiana is required.
Preferred qualifications include experience with autism diagnostics and standardized tools such as the ADOS-2, prior work in multidisciplinary or team-based care settings, and a demonstrated interest in teaching, mentorship, or program development.
